My Beginning as a Beverly Hills Magician

Many people aren't aware that magicians often perform in restaurants and bars during the week, and perform at private parties on the weekends.

When I first moved here, I didn't know anybody, and certainly didn't know my way around the city.  The year was 2000, and using a Thomas Guide was still a thing.

Every day, I put on a suit, and went from restaurant to restaurant and bar to bar trying to get hired as a house-magician.

One of the first places that hired me was Crustacean in Beverly Hills.  I performed there every Thursday night for over eight years, and getting that opportunity was a big factor in my success.

When I started at Crustacean, the lounge was a really happening spot.  There was live music and great crowds.  There was an aquarium built into the floor that served as a walkway to the dining room.  I almost exclusively performed in the dining room, but occasionally worked the lounge when the band was on break.

Crustacean doesn't look anything like it used to, but the food is still excellent.  I highly recommend visiting if you've never been.  The servers are among the best in all of Los Angeles.

Also, I'm still good friends with Rick Whitfield, whose band was usually there when I was performing.  If you need music for your event, you can't do better than him.

I met and performed for a lot of famous people at Crustacean, and many of them hired me for their private events.  If you check out my gallery of celebrity clients, several of those pictures were taken at Crustacean.

Now, over 20 years later, I've established myself as the premier magician serving Beverly Hills.  I look forward to making your event a smashing success.
