I'm a magician. I make my living doing magic. And I'm telling you to stop hiring magicians for your corporate event.

Hear me out.

When most people hear the word magician, they picture a guy in a cape pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Doves. Sequined assistants. A cheesy soundtrack. Kids in the front row clapping.

That guy is great at a child's birthday party. He's a disaster at your sales kickoff.

Corporate audiences are not children. They are adults who have been to a hundred events. They have seen the icebreaker games. They have suffered through the awkward keynote. They have eaten the rubber chicken. They are sitting in that ballroom hoping something, anything, will make this night different from the last 50 corporate events they have attended.

A magician with a top hat is not that thing.

So what is?

You want a comedian who happens to do magic. Not a magician who tells jokes.

The difference is enormous.

A magician who tells jokes uses comedy as filler between tricks. The tricks are the show. The jokes are the glue.

A comedian who does magic is doing stand-up. The comedy is the show. The magic is the proof that the comedian is also doing something nobody else can do. The audience laughs first. They gasp second. They remember it forever.

That's what corporate audiences want. They want to laugh. They want to feel smart. They want a story to tell on Monday morning.

Here's what I do. I walk into your event. I learn your world. Your competition. Your inside jokes. The things everyone is thinking but nobody will say out loud. Then I go on stage and I say them.

I poke fun at your competition. I goof on the audience. It's corporate. It's clean. Everyone's a target. Nobody gets hurt.

The magic is mind-blowing. The comedy is sharp. The combination is something your audience has never seen before, because most magicians can't do comedy and most comedians can't do magic.

I've been at this for over 25 years. I've performed at the Magic Castle in Hollywood since 2001. I've worked for Google, Microsoft, Apple, UPS, and hundreds of other companies. I've performed for two people in a boardroom and for several thousand at a conference.

If you're planning a corporate event, do yourself a favor. Don't hire a magician. Hire a comedian who can do things no magician can do.
